Open-Mic Night

On Thursday, January 4th, we're partnering with Make Oklahoma Weirder to invite performers of all disciplines and backgrounds to perform on Factory Obscura's Wonder Stage located inside the Mix-Tape immersive art experience.

Each month will have a theme artists can base their performance on. It is encouraged to interpret the theme in any way the performer sees fit. It is not required to adhere to the theme.

The theme for January 4th is COLD OPEN. A "cold open" is the practice of jumping directly into a story at the beginning of the show before the title sequence, think the sketch that "opens" the show on Saturday Night Live. Or maybe it's the first message you send on a dating app. Or how you introduce yourself to a stranger. It's the cold opening of the new year, do with it as you please!

Only the Angst and Wonder rooms will be accessible during Open-Mic Nights to keep the energy focused on the performances.
