Open-Mic Night

On Thursday, March 7th, we're partnering with Make Oklahoma Weirder to invite performers of all disciplines and backgrounds to perform on Factory Obscura's Wonder Stage located inside the Mix-Tape immersive art experience.

Each month will have a theme artists can base their performance on. It is encouraged to interpret the theme in any way the performer sees fit. It is not required to adhere to the theme.

The theme for March’s Open Mic is BLOOM. Seeds are being planted, life is awakening, what’s blooming for you as the season changes? What blooms eternal?

Only the Angst and Wonder rooms will be accessible during Open Mic Nights to keep the energy focused on the performances.

Sign up closes 3/6 at noon. Performers will be notified about their selection status on 3/6.

PERFORMER GUIDELINES

Factory Obscura is excited to collaborate with outside artists/performers to create new and diverse experiences for the community to be showcased. The Wonder stage is tucked inside the Mix-Tape immersive art experience, therefore this performance is inherently an artistic collaboration with Factory Obscura and must align with our goal of creating universal access to art for everyone.

We expect performers to adhere to the below guidelines. If you violate these guidelines at any point, your performance will be cut off and you may not be invited back to Open Mic Night.

- No derogatory/hateful language (including but not limited to the use of racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, racial slurs, etc…words/phrases/speech)

- No political campaigning 

- No religious proselytizing (defined as: convert or attempt to convert (someone) from one religion, belief, or opinion to another)

- No depictions of violence

- No explicit sexual content
